Project Name:

A is for Ahimsa (Ancillary Events)

Project Description:

Funding is sought for two ancillary events in the A is for Ahimsa project: $300 for the Opening of Exhibition Reception, and $700 to hire a teacher for an outdoor Tai Chi class at Roselawn Park. The Cincinnati Recreation Commission has agreed to supply an additional $500 toward the Tai Chi class.

Project Name:

Art Component of Summer Program: A is for Ahimsa

Project Description:

Funding is sought for art supplies for four two-week sessions of art classes to be held at Roselawn Park for 8 to 15 year olds. The theme of the art program will be A is for Ahimsa. Art produced in the summer sessions will create a Junior Exhibition concurrent with the professional exhibition in September 2004. Professional artists participating in the exhibit will visit the "park art" class to talk about their medium and their connection with A is for Ahimsa. The Cincinnati Recreation Commission contribution to this program is valued at $949.

Brick Wall at Reading Road & Section Avenue

Project Description:

The damaged gateway wall containing the Roselawn sign will be deconstructed and rebuilt at the current site. Because some of the sculpted brick has been removed from the site, and replacement brick is no longer available, the new wall design will include a limestone cap.

Sowing the Field of Dreams

Project Description:

The Rite Aid store owners have given permission to plant flowers at the site, to enhance the property with flowers and make the area attractive. This will be done by volunteers during the Great American Clean Up.
