Roselawn Park is foremost among the recreational offerings in our neighborhood.
Roselawn Park, a Cincinnati Recreation Commission property, is located on
Seymour Avenue between Reading Road and Langdon Farm Road. Over 40,000 visitors
per season use the three baseball diamonds that comprise a regional baseball
facility suited to hosting national tournaments. The newest Cincinnati site for
a 1000 Hands Playground was dedicated there on May 19, 2002. Roselawn Park
offers a shelterhouse with ADA accessible bathrooms, grills and picnic tables
for private events at a nominal fee. To inquire about reserving space at
Roselawn Park, contact the Cincinnati Recreation Commission at 513:352-4000.
Community
Partnerships
The Roselawn Community Council maintains a significant working partnership with
the Cincinnati Recreation Commission at Roselawn Park. In June, 2001 INVEST
awarded a Neighbor Network Merit Grant to create a treed garden with benches at
the Eastlawn Entrance. Two parts of a three phase Natural Insect Control
program have been funded through Keep Cincinnati Beautiful/United Dairy Farmers
grants: the Purple Martin House at the Eastlawn entrance (Spring 2001), and the
Bluebird Trail (Spring 2002). The third part of the plan includes bat houses!
In 2001 and 2002 the Roselawn Community Council secured trees for the Park
under Urban Forestry's Spring Re-Leaf Program. This city-wide program, open to
households as well as institutional members of the neighborhoods of the City of
Cincinnati, has furnished the Kousa dogwood trees for the Eastlawn Entrance
Garden, seven Hedge maples, and a pair of magnolias to be installed at the
Seymour entrance to the Park.

Tree Recognition
Program
A Tree Recognition Program was inaugurated in October 2001
by the Roselawn Community Council. The first honoree was Caryl Fullman,
long-time resident and activist in Roselawn. This initiative brings new tree
stock into the Park while creating a lasting, living tribute to the honoree.
For more information on this program contact the RCC office, 513:821-8918.
